Welcome to Al-Taqwa Laundry (“we”, “our”, “us”). We operate the website https://altaqwalaundry.com and the mobile applications that link to this policy. Protecting your personal information is central to the way we provide pickup & delivery laundry services across Dubai.

Information We Collect

A. Information You Give Us

  • Account data: name, delivery address, email, phone number, password.
  • Order data: garment count, special instructions, pickup/delivery preferences, payment method.
  • Payment data: credit-card number, expiry, CVV (processed tokenized via PCI-DSS-compliant gateway; we never store full card data).
  • Support data: chat transcripts, emails, rating/feedback.

A. Information You Give Us

  • Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referral URLs.
  • Location data: precise GPS coordinates only if you enable “Allow Location” in the app to auto-fill delivery addresses.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, buttons clicked, time spent, error logs.
  • Cookies & similar tech: see Section 5.

C. Information from Third Parties

  • Google / Apple sign-in: name, email, profile picture.
  • Marketing partners: aggregated, non-identifiable analytics.

Legal Bases (GDPR-style, voluntary but best-practice)

We process personal data only when:

  1. It is necessary to perform the contract (laundry service).
  2. It is required by law (tax, accounting, consumer-rights).
  3. We have your consent (push notifications, marketing emails).
  4. We have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (fraud prevention, network security).

How We Use Your Information

  • Process & deliver orders.
  • Notify you of order status, driver arrival, delays.
  • Handle payments, refunds, chargebacks.
  • Improve algorithms (optimal routing, inventory forecasting).
  • Send promotional offers (you may opt-out any time).
  • Detect, investigate and prevent fraud.
  • Comply with UAE laws and respond to lawful requests by public authorities.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Essential cookies: login sessions, cart persistence, CSRF security tokens.
Preference cookies: language, currency, saved addresses.
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 (IP anonymised), Hotjar heat-maps.
Marketing cookies: Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing (only with consent).

You can manage cookies through your browser or in-app “Privacy Settings”. Disabling may affect checkout flow.

Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your data. We share only:

  • Service providers: payment gateway (PayTabs, Stripe), SMS gateway (Twilio), route-optimisation (Google Maps), cloud hosting (AWS Dubai region).
  • Drivers: name, address, phone number required for pickup/delivery.
  • Government bodies: when legally compelled (e.g., court order).
  • Business transfer: in connection with a merger or acquisition, subject to confidentiality obligations.

All third parties are contractually bound to use data solely on our behalf and under this policy.

International Transfers

Your data is stored on servers located in the UAE (AWS me-central-1). No personal data is transferred outside the UAE unless you use an international payment card, in which case the transaction is processed in the nearest PCI-compliant data centre (typically EU or US). Such transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts: data retained until you delete your account or 3 years after last order (whichever sooner).
  • Financial records: 7 years (UAE Federal Tax Authority requirement).
  • Marketing consents: until you unsubscribe or 2 years after last interaction.
  • CCTV footage (in branch): 30 days, unless investigation requires longer.

Upon expiry, data is anonymised or securely erased (NIST 800-88 standard).

Security Measures

  • TLS 1.3 encryption in transit.
  • AES-256 encryption at rest.
  • PCI-DSS v4.0 compliant payment environment.
  • Two-factor authentication for staff dashboards.
  • Quarterly penetration tests & vulnerability scans.
  • ISO 27001-aligned information-security management system (certification in progress).

Your Rights

You may:

  • Access, rectify or erase personal data.
  • Export your data (JSON or CSV) via “Download My Data” in the app.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
  • Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office (https://www.datagov.ae).

Requests are fulfilled within 30 days free of charge, unless manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have, please contact us for immediate deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We will post any material changes on this page with a new “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you via email or push notification.
